Matthew 2:11-12

On this last Sunday of 2017 Pastor Jackson challenged us by posing a question in the house that caused us to reflect on 2017 and ask ourselves are there some things God wants us to do differently in 2018.  There is so much God desires to give us by way of obedience to His Word; however if we keep on doing the same thing the same way, we are going to keep getting more of the same results.

If you want something you’ve never had, then you are going to have to do something you have never done.  God desires for us to turn from our wicked ways starting with walking in a different direction that leads to the joy of God. The plans God has for us are going to require us to do some things differently in 2018. To arrive at the place and promise that God has for us, we are going to have to walk in a higher level of obedience to His Word and stop walking in disobedience.

In Verse 12 the text shares with us that after they bowed down and began to worship Jesus, they got up and went a different route home.  If you get nothing else out of this, please understand that it is not enough just to come to church, but God desires real change in our lives.  If we are going to worship God, we have to worship Him in Spirt and Truth.  Behavior follows belief.

Do you believe that God has given you the power of the Holy Spirt to cause you to do things differently when your flesh wants to remain in its same condition?  Sometimes our behavior says something totally different than what we say we believe. Remember Behavior follows belief.

We all have something in our life that God would like us to do differently. Let’s do it differently in 2018.  Let’s work spiritual wise smart and not just hard this year.
